On January 26, 2019, the annual Open Day of the Academy for the 5 Biological Laws and Biologically Integrative Sciences took place in Bergamo, Italy.
As a lecturer at the academy, I was invited, along with several colleagues, to present an aspect of the school.
For this particular occasion, I decided to showcase the didactic structure of the academy and how this approach helps students ease into the subject matter. To illustrate this, I conducted a small experiment to demonstrate to the audience how a completely unfamiliar concept can be quickly grasped using effective learning strategies.
Note: While preparing the presentation the day before, I had doubts in the evening about whether the experiment would actually work, as I couldn’t immediately recall the animal name to be learned. However, the next morning at breakfast, as I discussed the idea, the name came to mind instantly when asked. It was clear: the experiment works! :-)
